Oracle Database Administrator

Germantown, MD

Description

The Oracle Database Administrator will support Application Hosting Environment (AHE) OCIO DataBase Infrastructure Support (1IM13)

Responsibilities:

1. Installation, configuration and tuning of Data Base Management Systems (DBMS) software. Assist with installation and operation of Oracle’s Application Server components.

2. Review and implementation of customer schemas, providing guidance on performance, security and data management techniques.

3. Planning for data base architecture, licensing and technology.

4. Coordination of DBMS issues with other functional areas involved in operating DOE’s Applications Hosting Environment (AHE).

5. Planning, organization, direction and control of ORACLE, SQLServer, Sybase and MySQL environments.

Perform full range of data base administration and systems programming technical functions as required by team priorities, customer deadlines and staff vacancies.

Experience/Education

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science

· Five years of experience in a DBA role

· Must be willing to travel between locations

· Must be proficient at reading, writing, and speaking the English language.

· Must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” level clearance.
