Records Management Administrative Assistant
Description
The candidate will provide
administrative support to the Department of Energy’s Records Holding Area
(records center).
Specific
duties of the position include:
·
Performing
inventory control of records located in the Records Holding Area (RHA) from
database printouts.
·
Faxing
and copying records.
·
Coordinating
and communicating with staff at the Washington National Records Center (WNRC).
·
Preparing
records for shipment to WNRC (writing accession, job and box numbers on the
boxes, re-boxing old records, etc.)
·
Destroying
boxes of records and other material (removing metal clips, binders and other
non-recyclable attachments).
·
Processing
paperwork for requests from WNRC (Document Receipts, Optional Form 11,
Requisition Forms, and Courier Request forms).
·
Assisting
customers with requests for records in the RHA.
·
Typing
disposal memoranda.
·
Retrieving
and delivering boxes of records from/to the Courier’s Office.
·
Filing
of receipts and other documentation.
·
Coordinating
the movement of records from the vault to the staging areas.
·
Providing
support to Program Offices.
·
Picking
up and delivering mail.
Must have an active Top Secret or “Q”
level clearance.
Experience/Education
·
High School
diploma.
·
Computer
skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
·
Excellent
listening and organizational skills.
·
Ability to
track and organize multiple tasks simultaneously.
·
Ability to
work in a team environment.
