Last year Hurricane Katrina devastated the lives of thousands of people living in New Orleans area who were displaced all throughout the United States. Many of the victims were relocated to our Nations Capital looking to rebuild their lives. Energy Enterprise Solutions, LLC Community Outreach Program answered the call by partnering with Goodwill of Greater Washington to assist in the relief effort by helping many families to become self sufficient.

In October of 2005, the EES Community Outreach Program developed, managed, and facilitated a "Hurricane Katrina Campaign," in which Goodwill help provide jobs. As part of the effort, the outreach program strategically searched to find a philanthropic partner that could assist them with the effort who had similar values. The 1 Source and EES Community Outreach Program wanted to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina to be self sufficient. That philanthropic partner was Goodwill of Greater Washington whose mission was to educate, train, employ, and place people with disadvantages and disabilities. In addition, Goodwill of Greater Washington had a long prestigious history of being a nonprofit workforce development organization that has helped tens of thousands of Washington metropolitan area residents get jobs since 1935.
